Alcoaxarquía has strengthened its position in the organic avocado segment. This past February, the company signed the acquisition of what it calls “the largest organic tropical fruit farm in Spain, Los Bates and Panata.” Located in Motril, the farm spans 120 hectares, including 90 hectares of organic avocados and 30 of organic mangoes, already in production.
The new farm will allow the company to supply fruit earlier in the season from this area, then transition to other zones such as La Axarquía, and conclude the Spanish calendar with crops from Cádiz.
As CEO José Antonio Alconchel explained to Fruit Today, the group now boasts “400 hectares of owned production in Spain and 6,000 tonnes of organic avocados.”
New Carbon Footprint Certification
This is not the only milestone recently reached. During the trade show, the company also signed “several promising contracts with countries around the world. Our product is very well received,” and in April, they achieved carbon footprint certification for their production in Alcoaxarquía Peru. They are now working toward obtaining certification in the other countries where they operate.
Looking ahead to next year, the company plans to tackle a new challenge: avocado oil production, which will complement their existing guacamole project. These products are generated from their fresh produce, reinforcing their commitment to the circular economy.

Alcoaxarquía closed the 2024 campaign with €75 million in revenue and 31% growth, and the upward trend continues into the current year. “We thought 2025 would be a year of stabilization, but we were already up 19% in January. We must be doing something right,” Alconchel concluded.
