The organising committee of the 8th International Red Berry Congress is already working on the design of the event’s programme, inscriptions for which can be formalised using the web site: www.congresofrutosrojos.com. This will give access to the Congress’ venue, divided up into the exhibition area, with over 60 stands; in the auditorium of Casa Colon, in which the entire technical programme will take place; and in the parallel activities rooms, such as Sala A, where there will be different technical presentations by companies that are taking part in the Congress, or Sala 100, in which a business and commercial B2B will be developed, organised by Extenda – Andalucía Exportación e Inversión Extranjera, the institutional sponsor of the Congress.

The Fundación Caja Rural del Sur has renewed its commitment to the Congress and once again it will be the exclusive main sponsor of this event, subject to the agreement signed by the Chairmen of the Fundación Caja Rural del Sur and Freshuelva, José Luis García-Palacios Álvarez and Francisco José Gómez, respectively.

García-Palacios pointed out that “we consider ourselves to be an inherent part, not only of the Congress, which we have formed part of since its first edition, but also of the sector itself in which the principles and objectives are in perfect alignment with those of our Foundation and, accordingly, we must at least support and encourage the holding of this type of meetings, which are so important for a sector that is completely essential for a production area of our province and that are an international reference for good work.”

Gómez was “very excited” about the holding of the first Congress as chairman of Freshuelva, and he hopes the event will bolster the union of the sector, from which the present may be analysed and the current problems tackled, in order to be able to continue growing and being a world benchmark in the production and marketing of berries.

In point of fact, this agreement with Extenda will make the presence of relevant international speakers at this Congress possible, through which the opportunities and retail trends and the emerging markets for red berries will be analysed in an international context.
