With an assortment that ensures a continuous supply of organic apples throughout the 12 months of the year, combining traditional varieties with innovative offerings, VOG – Home of apples has launched the marketing of its new organic harvest, produced this season by 300 apple growers. On the occasion of European Organic Day, the Consortium takes stock of the start of the commercial season.

“The start of the campaign makes us optimistic. The harvest is of excellent quality, and we expect to have similar volumes to last year available in the market,” said Klaus Hölzl, Head of Sales at VOG. “Thanks to a broad and well-structured varietal assortment, we can guarantee continuity in supply, meeting the different needs of consumers throughout the year.”

The organic segment has evolved to meet consumer demand for greater diversity and the ability to find apples that match their tastes and lifestyles. VOG, one of Europe’s leading apple producers, offers its commercial partners both the expertise and the wide range of products and brands required to meet these needs continuously and systematically.

“We have developed our assortment of varieties with the consumer at the center,” explained Hannes Tauber, Head of Marketing at VOG. “Today we are the ideal partner to build retail assortments at any time of the year, combining traditional apples with classic brands and innovative proposals. The latter are particularly attractive to younger generations, who today are a driving force for apple consumption, including in the organic category.”

The Consortium’s organic assortment is structured around two main lines: traditional apples, which guarantee continuity and consumer recognition, and Club apples, which complement well-established brands with innovative, high-potential offerings.

Traditional apples form the core of production and include the most popular varieties deeply rooted in consumption habits, marketed under the Marlene® Bio and Biosüdtirol brands. These include sweet red apples such as Gala, available all year round and highly appreciated by children as a school snack; along with Inored Story® and Fuji, known for their intense, sweet flavor. Also included are sweet and tart red varieties such as Braeburn, Topaz, Bonita, and Natyra®, offering a balance of freshness and aroma.

The assortment is completed with yellow Golden Delicious, available year-round and combining sweetness with vitality, and green Granny Smith, favored by those who enjoy tangier apples with a firm character.

In addition to these varieties, the Club apples enhance the offer with brands of strong market recognition. These include classics like Kanzi® Bio and Pink Lady® Bio, already established in retail aisles, alongside newer and more dynamic arrivals such as Cosmic Crisp® Bio, RedPop® Bio, and Giga® Bio. These not only add freshness to the assortment but also appeal to the tastes of younger generations, who are currently driving the growth of organic consumption.

“Thanks to these two complementary lines,” explained Hölzl, “VOG can offer a complete organic range that combines the solidity of traditional varieties with the innovative strength of Club apples, guaranteeing both trade partners and consumers a varied, distinctive assortment that is available all year round.”

“With such a diversified assortment, year-round continuity, and the availability of different packaging formats such as bags and foodtainers, which represent an added value,” added Tauber, “we help our clients manage the apple category throughout the year, satisfying both long-time organic consumers who buy their favorite apples and new shoppers discovering the category.”
