With over 40 years of experience, Intersemillas has consolidated its position as a national and international benchmark in seed development.
Over 10% of its annual invoicing is used in R&D+i, allowing the company to explore new seed varieties that are setting trends in the agricultural industry. In this crossover of old and new, seeds that are revolutionising crops are emerging, such as the piel de sapo melon with orange flesh, continuing the “Innovative Orange Flesh” research line.
In its Professional Horticultural Department, they manage a wide range of species such as: melon, watermelon, pepper, tomato, radish, courgette, onion, aubergine, in addition to rootstock and papaya.
Amongst the most outstanding improvements are the peppers NABONE, the courgette ESENCIA, the melon CONQUISTADOR, the watermelon MENINA, the onions OSAKA and BELYNDA, the radish ELNÚMERO and the cucumber PANOCHO.
They have also introduced the vine tomatoes JIMENA and MESNADA, the plum tomato types FERRERO and ALCARAZ, and the pink type ROISIN, presented to the market as “Your allies to control ToBRFV.” The melon CORCEL has become a favourite choice in Almeria, particularly for early crops. The yellow courgette LINGOTE stands out due to its important production, good post-harvest and its resistance to powdery mildew and viruses transmitted by aphids. The pepper CROWN, a variety of red Lamuyo for greenhouse growing, has been highly successful in Portugal. Finally, the tomato ALMARA, a multi-locular beefsteak tomato with a great deal of flesh, very hardy and resistant to cracking, is conquering the market, also in Portugal.
The company has a stand at the trade fair in hall 9, stand 9B25.
