The lemon harvest estimate made by AILIMPO (Asociación Interprofesional de Limón y Pomelo) for the 2023/24 campaign predicts a production in Spain of 1,365,000 tonnes, a figure similar to the one reached in the 2020/21 campaign, which means a global increase of 34% in comparison to the 2022/23 campaign (which had the lowest harvest of the past 10 years) and that closed with a final production of 1,018,407 tonnes in accordance with the interim balance that includes fruit exported, processed and marketed on the Spanish home market, as well as the losses in weight.
Grapefruits
AILIMPO’s grapefruit production estimate for the 2023/2024 campaign indicates a harvest forecast in Spain of 90,000 tonnes, a volume that is virtually identical to that of the previous campaign.
