Rijk Zwaan’s participation in Fruit Logistica 2025 highlights its commitment to driving innovation and collaboration in the fresh produce sector. From February 5 to 7 in Berlin (Hall 1.2, stand D-13), they will meet visitors and partners to share their latest developments.
“At Fruit Logistica, we’re excited to showcase innovative products developed by our breeding teams to benefit growers, distributors, and consumers,” says Jan Doldersum, Manager Chain & Retail. “One of the standout products is our Tropical Sunshine watermelon, with its bright yellow color and delicious sweet taste. Thanks to our collaboration with Woolworths and growers, this eye-catching watermelon is already lighting up shelves and bringing smiles to consumers in South Africa.”
Another highlight is Tatayoyo®, their award-winning snack-sized pepper bursting with flavor, which won the Innovation Award at Fruit Logistica 2023. “It will be marketed for the first time in Lidl stores across Europe, thanks to our collaboration with Scherpenhuizen in the Netherlands and Unica Group in Spain. Together, we’re making this flavor-packed snack pepper available to even more consumers.”
The Snack Lettuce© will also take center stage. “We’ll hold tastings at the JimboFresh and Fruca stands. This allows us to continue strengthening the market with a unique type of lettuce that is super tasty and crunchy, ideal for salads and as a base or vehicle for various preparations (guacamole, ceviche, and other dips),” explains Alberto Cuadrado, Chain Manager. Additionally, Sweet Palermo© continues to lead the flavored sweet cone pepper segment and will be featured at the producer company stands.
Collaborations in Fresh Produce
Rijk Zwaan stands out for collaborations that go beyond product innovation to provide solutions for the fresh produce value chain. “Collaboration is the key to success,” says Doldersum. “By working closely with the entire chain, we develop solutions that address specific needs while supporting the supply of fresh and healthy vegetables to consumers worldwide.”
One example is their collaboration with leading tomato production companies to develop high-quality varieties with strong resistance to Tomato Brown Rugose Fruit Virus (ToBRFV), providing peace of mind for growers and meeting consumer demands.
In snack cucumbers, Mycubies© is the market’s leading brand, known for its exceptional flavor and deep green color. It will be available for tasting at producer company stands.
