Bollo Natural Fruit, a leading name in the Spanish agri-food industry, has officially joined the B Corp movement, which recognises companies that meet the highest standards of social, environmental, and governance performance.

With this certification, Bollo takes a decisive step in its commitment to a more sustainable, inclusive and regenerative agricultural model, reinforcing its corporate movement “Natural Change”, which promotes a new way of understanding agriculture — one that is more respectful of the planet and its people. “Becoming B Corp is a validation that we are on the right path — changing agriculture from within, from the grower to the consumer, for a better future for all,” said Antonio Alarcón, CEO of Bollo Natural Fruit.

Natural Change: the natural shift towards a future-proof agriculture

The B Corp recognition strengthens Bollo’s purpose of leading a new model of bio-inclusive agriculture, which promotes balance between biodiversity, soil, flora, and fauna. The company currently manages over 2,000 hectares under this model, with the goal of reaching 100% of its own farms in the coming years.

This commitment is structured around five sustainability pillars outlined in its Annual Report and 2025 Sustainability Dossier:

  • Climate neutrality, with the first CO₂-neutral citrus fruits and more than 180,000 tonnes of zero-emission fruit marketed.

  • Water efficiency, managing all farms certified with the EsAgua Gold seal and 1,453 hectares accredited by Spring, optimising over 6.8 million m³ of water.

  • Wellbeing and inclusion, through 3,000+ annual training hours, collaboration with Fundación Adecco, and a multicultural workforce of 40+ nationalities, including 36% women.

  • Responsible sourcing, with 96% local purchases and 92% of suppliers evaluated under ESG criteria.

  • Biodiversity protection, conserving 130 animal species, planting 2,252 trees and shrubs, restoring 44 km of hedgerows, and cultivating 1,000 hectares under the EcoSystem P.R.O.O.F. protocol.

Bio-inclusive agriculture: the Bollo model

This pioneering approach — first implemented at El Cerro Farm in Seville — transforms agricultural operations into living ecosystems of biodiversity. Thanks to this methodology, Bollo has reduced water use by 25%, energy consumption by 20%, and phytosanitary treatments by 70%, generating a direct positive impact on the environment.

The company has scaled this model to over 2,000 hectares across 67 farms within the P.R.O.O.F. and Zitrus programmes, demonstrating the scalability and potential of this sustainable farming system.

Bollo Natural Fruit: over a century cultivating the future

With more than 100 years of history, Bollo reaffirms itself as a premium Spanish brand that blends tradition, innovation, and sustainability. Its bio-inclusive agriculture model and new B Corp certification consolidate the vision of its Natural Change movement: cultivating the future of fruit by regenerating the soil and caring for people.

The company focuses on sustainable production of premium fruits such as melons, watermelons, citrus, and tropical fruits, ensuring full traceability and promoting environmentally responsible farming practices. In addition, Bollo drives social initiatives in the communities where it operates, promoting employment inclusion, training, and equal opportunities.
