Chilean Fruit meets with the Shanghai International Chamber of Commerce

The meeting is part of the organization’s goal to strengthen trade relations and promote greater awareness of Chilean fruit in Asian markets

With the aim of exploring possible future collaborations to benefit Chilean fruit, the president of Frutas de Chile, Iván Marambio, and the executive director of the Cherry Committee, Claudia Soler, welcomed a group of representatives from the Shanghai International Chamber of Commerce (COIC) to the offices of the trade organization. The delegation was led by its president, Yang Dongshen, who also serves as vice president of the China International Chamber of Commerce.

The Shanghai International Chamber of Commerce (COIC Shanghai) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization with legal personality. COIC Shanghai is composed of companies, public institutions, and economic organizations engaged in international commercial activities. It is one of the most influential chambers of commerce in Shanghai. Currently, it has more than 1,000 members and has signed memoranda of understanding with 163 chambers of commerce and economic and trade organizations worldwide.

“As part of Frutas de Chile’s strategy is to strengthen ties with trade associations and organizations in Chile and around the world to boost the marketing, awareness, and consumption of Chilean fruit,” said Iván Marambio, president of Frutas de Chile.

He added that “the meeting held with the Shanghai International Chamber of Commerce fits within this vision. We welcomed a very large and important delegation, to whom we were able to present logistical options and opportunities to promote our fruits in China.”
