For over forty years, our Consortium has specialized in the genetic improvement of apple and strawberry varieties, and this event once again represented a significant opportunity to meet with partners and customers, strengthen relationships, and discuss future trends in the sector.

As a European leader in plant breeding and genetic innovation, CIV had the chance to showcase its latest developments and ongoing research projects aimed at offering sustainable, resilient varieties suited to consumer and market demands. Participation in Fruit Attraction 2024 was also highlighted by a rich exchange of experiences with industry professionals, reaffirming our commitment to a more sustainable fruit cultivation, responsive to evolving international demands.

A Special Presence for Our 40th Anniversary

Mauro Grossi, President of CIV, says: “This year’s event in Madrid held a special meaning, as CIV continue the celebrations for our 40th year of activity. Founded in 1983, our consorzium has distinguished itself since the very beginning through the excellence of its breeding programs and its ability to anticipate the needs of a market increasingly focused on the quality and sustainability of crops.”

Federico Stanzani, CIV’s Commercial Director, added: “We are proud to share this milestone with our partners and customers, who have always supported and collaborated with us in developing new varieties. We extend our gratitude to them for the trust and cooperation which allows us to grow and innovate, year after year.”

During the event, CIV showcased its ongoing projects – such as RedPop®, Cheeky®, and Lilibet®, to name a few – and highlighted future prospects, emphasising its commitment to research for disease-resistant, agronomically sustainable apple and strawberry varieties. Key topics of discussion also included adapting new varieties to the challenges of climate change and meeting consumer demands, increasingly geared toward high-quality, environmentally-friendly fruits.

Thanks and Goals for the Future

We would like to thank everyone who visited our booth at Fruit Attraction 2024, and we renew our commitment to work together with partners and customers to continue innovating in the breeding sector. CIV looks to the future with enthusiasm and a vision focused on sustainability, aiming to provide cutting-edge, sustainable solutions for modern fruit growing.
