The recent approval of Exirel’s registration in Spain represents a major breakthrough for the agricultural sector, offering farmers an effective tool for integrated pest management.

Formulated with Cyazypyr® as its active ingredient, Exirel is distinguished by its broad-spectrum efficacy, targeting various pests such as thrips, prays, aphids, whiteflies, and leaf miners. Its foliar application makes it a versatile resource, capable of adapting to different production scenarios while ensuring effective pest control without compromising biodiversity in agroecosystems.

One of Exirel’s key advantages is its compatibility with beneficial auxiliary fauna. In a context where sustainability has become a fundamental pillar of modern agriculture, this formulation emerges as a strategic solution for farmers seeking to protect their crops without harming beneficial organisms. Furthermore, its toxicological profile is among the most favorable in the market, facilitating its integration into sustainable pest management programs.

“We know that the thrips issue is becoming increasingly serious and that the available solutions are limited. Exirel arrives at a crucial moment to provide an effective alternative within an integrated control strategy,” explains José Antonio Rodríguez, FMC’s Marketing Director for Spain and Portugal.

The product works at the muscular level, leading to an immediate cessation of feeding, thereby significantly reducing crop damage. Within a few days, the insect dies, minimizing the impact on crops. Its novel mode of action helps reduce the risk of resistance, provided it is used within a rotational strategy alongside other insecticides, following FMC’s technical recommendations.

Already approved in countries outside the European Union, Exirel has established itself as a proven and effective solution for woody crop protection.

During the spring, Exirel will be presented at various events, including Citrus Connect on March 26.
