PARTIDA is now in Almeria

The centre in Almeria has been fully operational since December, bringing clients closer to the agricultural sector

PARTIDA Logistics’ new office in Almeria is now up and running. The delegation opened its doors in mid-December, and since then it has been fully functional.

Located in the Port of Almeria, next to the Border Inspection Post (BIP), it allows PARTIDA to get closer to its clients and to extend its presence in the fruit and vegetable growing world.

The front people are Rosalía Navarro and Nizar Jmahri El Ouarit, two professionals with extensive experience in the business world. For example, Nizar Jmahri El Ouarit has had a “long career in the customs and logistics arena, working in customs agencies and shipping companies,” Álvaro Partida, Sales & Business Expansion Manager, explained to Fruit Today.

Following the purchase by a Spanish investment group, led by Everwood Capital, PARTIDA is carrying out an important national and international expansion strategy. “We aim to get larger, but also better,” Álvaro Partida affirms.

Accordingly, the new office allows customs declarations to be processed, with the coordination of the import & export cases that operate with Almeria through the ports of Melilla, Ghazaouet (Algeria), Orán (Algeria), along with Alhucemas and Nador (Morocco). The port of Nador is particularly interesting due to its growth prospects. “We believe that it is going to gain importance within the industrial, agricultural, fish-shellfish, renewable energies and automotive sectors. Large Chinese groups are expected to invest in this enclave.”

From the new office, they will carry out export dispatches to the United Kingdom (with an important workload following Brexit), Switzerland, Norway and Iceland. And they also dispatch goods from Morocco that enter through the ports of Algeciras and Motril.

The promotion of the Assessment in Foreign Trade division (OEA, customs figures for warehouses, payment of VAT and customs duties, taxes on plastics, etc.) is one of PARTIDA’s plans. And another of its challenges involves the push forward with customs training (Incoterms, types of sale, customs and pre-customs declarations, duty rates and taxation.) In order to do this, they will organise on-site training courses (at the client’s company), as well as telematic ones.
