Characterized by its reddish internal and external color, these oranges are highly sought after for their sweet flavor, high juice content, and especially for their antioxidant value, attributed to the significant presence of anthocyanins.
A Varietal Effort with a Commercial Purpose
The Red Bouquet project was developed at Anecoop’s experimental field in Museros (Valencia). The cultivation of this citrus range is based on a dual objective: on the one hand, to recover historic blood orange varieties traditionally grown in Valencia that were nearly extinct, and on the other, to incorporate new complementary varieties, thereby ensuring broader and more consistent commercial programs for this type of orange.
After several years of studying different varieties, Anecoop has selected several for its blood orange offering, notably Ippólito, easily recognized by its intense external and internal color and larger size, and Tarocco Rosso. Both are part of the line marketed under the new Red Bouquet brand, which is being presented at Fruit Logistica.
Although these varieties are well-known and widely marketed in Europe, they remain relatively rare in Spain, where they have been difficult to find for many years. Furthermore, they arrive at a commercially opportune time, with consumers eager for innovations in both table and juice oranges.

Anecoop aims to diversify across various distribution channels in the national market and strengthen its presence in countries already familiar with the product, such as Italy, France, and Germany.
Natural Protection
Blood oranges owe their distinctive color to the high presence of anthocyanins, a bioactive component that develops due to the temperature contrast between day and night during cultivation.
Recent studies conducted as part of a collaboration between Anecoop and the Complutense University of Madrid reveal that the blood orange varieties marketed by Anecoop are rich in vitamin C, fiber, and anthocyanins—valuable antioxidants for health.
