At Keops Agro, regenerative agriculture stopped being a promise and became a reality some time ago. The Almeria-based company, specialized in organic production, has found in the Epigen Healthy Bite model the tool that allows it to combine sustainability, differentiation and added value. Its Karamel Rome tomato line is already a benchmark on European shelves, endorsed by AENOR certification and by a standardized procedure that guarantees consistent quality and high nutritional value.
Each package includes a QR label that allows consumers to access the metabolomic composition of the fruit, highlighting biomolecules such as chlorogenic acid, associated with cardiovascular benefits, or myo-inositol, linked to the vitamin B complex and of great interest for vegan diets. “We’ve achieved it,” summarizes Mª del Mar del Águila, Commercial and Marketing Director at Keops Agro, emphasizing that the challenge was to achieve stable quality without giving up sustainability.
In a market marked by economic and health uncertainty, Keops Agro has recorded a 20% increase in sales thanks to the differentiation of its premium products. “When the soil is healthy and balanced, plants suffer less stress and are more productive,” says del Águila. This philosophy positions Keops as one of the key drivers of regenerative agriculture in Europe.
Boosting certification
Keops Agro is part of a public-private consortium with the Universities of Almería, Granada and the CSIC, among others, which scientifically validates carbon capture, soil microbiome regeneration and reduced water consumption. Preliminary results in pilot crops such as rice are promising.

This environmental commitment is also translated into consumer communication. Starting this autumn, major European chains will include pilot in-store experiences with certified products, supported by an interactive label showing the environmental footprint. In addition, partner suppliers are beginning to adopt the same model.
