Marks and Spencer will be the first retailer in the United Kingdom to start selling mini avocados in its food halls, according to theindependent.co.uk. The demand for the fruit in 2015 was incredibly high, frequently appearing on the Instagram application and this has continued in 2016.
This mini fruit, which is half the size of a normal avocado, comes from Malaga (Spain). The curious point lies in the fact that it was previously rejected due to its size and it has now become a hit. It is offered in a single format, a plastic package with five pieces at a price of around 3 euros.
The launch of these mini avocados could help to boost the company’s fresh produce sales, which announced not the best results at the end of the year.
