Waikiki is an orange-fleshed Branco melon, which is very sweet, with between 13 and 14 Brix, and that is a pleasure to eat, with a relatively small size of around 2 kg.
It is only going to be marketed through two partners, the company from Murcia, Jimbofresh, which will market Waikiki exclusively for most of Europe, and the Portuguese company, Hortomelao, which will do the same in Portugal.
The melons under the brand name of Waikiki will leave the greenhouses of Almeria in a few months’ time, and then from Murcia, La Mancha, Brazil and, at the beginning of next year, Senegal.
Waikiki is one of the concepts included in the Foodture with which Semillas Fitó wants to reach consumers. It is based on three fundamental pillars: producing with quality, marketing in the best way possible, and winning over customers who are interested in a premium product.
