Biosolutions — natural products for plant protection, nutrition, and biostimulation — will take center stage at Biosolutions and Digital Technologies (BDT), the specialized exhibition dedicated to sustainable crop protection, nutrition, and biostimulation. The event returns to Macfrut, the international fruit and vegetable trade fair, which will be held from April 21 to 23, 2026, at the Rimini Expo Centre.

“According to data from Future Market Insight (2023), published on the website of the European Biostimulants Industry Council (EBIC), the global biostimulants market exceeds USD 3 billion and is expected to triple in value over the next decade,” explains Roberto Sciolino, from Agri 2000 Net and coordinator of the exhibition. “As for biocontrol, the International Biocontrol Manufacturers Association (IBMA) reported in its 2023 survey that the European market now exceeds €1.6 billion, a figure that has doubled since 2016. These figures clearly demonstrate the strong growth potential of this sector.”

Recognized as a benchmark event for Southern Europe and Mediterranean countries, Biosolutions and Digital Technologies offers, over three days, a comprehensive overview of the sector through a wide range of specialized proposals.

In the exhibition area, companies will once again enjoy a central position in the South Hall — the most visited area of the fair — where they can showcase their latest biosolutions and innovative technologies. Around 70 exhibitors took part in the previous edition.

A key component of the event is knowledge sharing, with case studies, innovation showcases, and the latest research in the field. The program will feature a seminar on “Biosolutions and kiwi quality: what strategies are available?”, an international focus dedicated to stone fruits, and technical roundtables for exhibitors and sponsors addressing practical field applications. Meetings with foreign buyers of biosolutions are also scheduled.

Biosolutions and Digital Technologies, launched in 2019, is an event that connects the world of biosolutions with the Italian and international fruit and vegetable industries,” says Roberto Sciolino. “The key players will be the leading experts and companies in biocontrol, biostimulation, specialty nutrition, and sustainability technologies. Alongside major international firms, the event will welcome distributors of technical inputs, agricultural entrepreneurs, and field specialists in a sector that is attracting increasing attention from both the European Union and consumers.”
