Primaflor’s latest development continues with its commitment to innovation and in line with the Primaflor 2030 Sustainability strategy, where it seeks to reduce the mass use of plastic for fresh-cut produce.

Two classic references that are very popular on the market, such as the Mezclum and Gourmet salads, will boast this new 100% sustainable packaging.

The main characteristic of this new development is the 100% sustainable packaging (biodegradable and compostable), using a plant-based product, which helps to decrease the carbon footprint significantly. It is also a more resistant and longer lasting packaging, which allows the freshness of the produce to be improved, as well as being completely usable and biodegradable, as it turns into compost when it disintegrates with the environment, reducing the carbon footprint, preventing the non-rational use of plastic and contributing to a circular economy.

This new 100% sustainable packaging marketed by Primaflor, using its commercial name Mimaflor, leaves no toxic residue and it decomposes much quicker than other types of sustainable materials, therefore limiting an unbridled use of raw materials.

This packaging holds the FSC Sustainable Certificate, as it is made up of Environmentally-friendly forestry materials from sustainably managed forests.

Primaflor will also display another of its latest new developments, a range of cold, complete salads with legumes: Mezclum Salad with dried peas and Mezclum with lentils.

These two new references distinguish themselves from the rest as they are a healthy option which covers the market requirements, bringing a consumption alternative for legumes, in a cold dish. They are balanced dishes, with low fat and sugar content. Healthy, light and tasty options, for eating when and where you want, as they include a fork. Ideal for maintaining a balanced diet without having to cook, these salads are also a source of fibre and protein, and they are packaged in rPET (Recycled and recyclable plastic).

The trade fair will also be the perfect setting to present the new Mimaflor brand image for all their salads, sauces and complements, which has seen a restyling carried over the past year, aimed at creating a more respectful, environmentally-friendly global brand, as well as a total unification of packaging and personalisation according to families and typologies, which helps consumers when making their choices on the supermarket shelves.
