This is the case of Compañía Aguacatera del Sur. The company plans to handle the same figures as the previous year, maintaining a line of stability and continuity in its operations.
As occurs every year, the team is coming to Fruit Attraction to meet up with suppliers and clients, with the aim of strengthening its existing links.
Regarding the international panorama experienced by the subtropical fruit sector during the last campaign, sources from Compañía Aguacatera del Sur recall that, luckily, the social protests in Peru (one of the company’s main sources) did not affect the avocado campaign, to the same extent as the grape campaign was affected, with problems of roads being blocked, amongst others.
But water shortage is a generalised challenge to be faced. One of the most important problems for areas such as la Axarquía. “It is important, we need structures and the local governments are not building them. This will lead to greater import volumes.”
