Frutas Montosa won the Superior Taste Award for its mango sauce, improved working alongside two of the judges from Masterchef
2018 will be remembered at Frutas Montosa as the year of the Mango Sauce, as they have received the two-star “Superior Taste Award” for the new recipe, repeating last year’s success with the company’s guacamole.
The well-known judges of Masterchef, Samantha Vallejo-Nágera and Pepe Rodríguez (with 1 Michelin star at his restaurant, El Bohío), worked together with the company from Malaga to improve the sauce, prepared only using natural products: 90% mango and the remaining 10% is honey, onion, garlic and dehydrated red pepper, jalapeño, powdered lemon juice and a mixture of spices and salt. Thanks to this combination, they have achieved an exotic flavour that has been recognised with the award given by the International Taste & Quality Institute (iTQi), considered as the “Michelin Guide” for food products.
“We have to say that we are incredibly proud of winning the award and being able to accredit that our sauce, from the culinary point of view, is a star product!” sources at Frutas Montosa comment.
To show the sauce’s great versatility and reveal its advantages, a specific recipe section has been prepared on the web site www.frutasmontosa.com. All of them have been created by Pepe Rodriguez and Samantha Vallejo-Nágera, and they are prepared using the mango sauce as a base, alternating between very elaborate dishes to simpler creations that can be made in less than 30 minutes. “They are bound to surprise more than one.”
