Casi: adapted to customer requirements.

The new project by the company from Almeria has meant an investment of over € 11 million in technology acquisition for classification and packaging solutions and it will have a daily capacity of over 2 million kg.

The preparation centre, with a surface area of over 45,000 m², is one of the most advanced in Europe in produce classification, selecting fruit both by colour and by degrees brix.

This project responds to the many requirements of today’s demand, where the produce presentation formats are as (if not more) important than the produce itself.

The technical characteristics of the equipment installed in the airport preparation centre and that give the name to this warehouse are: automation of the entry and stockpiling in the basement; fed by robots, latest generation calibrators with external and internal technology, which measure the degrees brix, labelling, pallet forming and strapping; the pallet then leaves, ready for cool storage. With 100% produce traceability of produce and materials. For cold storage, there are 3,000 m² of total surface area, of which 2,000m² are in storage rooms.

All of this without forgetting that the produce offer at Auction, with the added value of the classification prepared by the farmer in the field, will continue its normal route, responding to the traditional market’s demand that values its farmers’ good work by hand, who obviously follow the regulations standardised in the UNE classification and Food Safety, including the growth of offer in cardboard at a unified weight, with which Casi has become a price reference point on the market.

Ecological produce. CASI ORGANIC, will be the brand name that CASI will use to launch its new ecological produce line onto the market, for which there are already 120 hectares on line in year 0 and reconverted (and growing), for which the company has had to undertake an adaptation and certification project of its other preparation centre in San Isidro. In addition, the company is getting ready to offer produce for next summer.

Fruit Attraction. The new developments presented at Fruit Attraction will be on the one hand, the serious commitment in specialities such as cherry, pear cherry and vine cherry. Along with yellow cherry, black cherry and pink tomato. And on the other hand, the wide range in the new packaging design and marketing lines that bring brand image to the offer.

Casi has the most demanding fresh produce certificates and Food Safety regulations and demands by the largest Distribution Chains (BRC, IFS, Ecological Production…)
