The National Confederation of Spanish Fruit and Vegetable Wholesalers (COEMFE) renewed its Management Board and established its priorities for the next five years.
The Confederation’s Management Board will continue to be presided over by Andrés Suárez (ASOMAFRUT), with Jaume Flores (AGEM) as Vice-Chairman and representatives from the wholesale fruit and vegetable business associations in Alicante, Barcelona, Cordoba, Granada, Madrid, Seville, Palma de Mallorca and Valencia as directors.
The Confederation will work together on the negotiations to renew the administrative franchises in the different Central Fruit Markets, representing the interests of the fruit and vegetable wholesalers before the Ministry of Agriculture, AICA (Food Information and Control Agency) and other sectorial organisms; and increasing the recognition of the essential role of fruit and vegetable wholesalers in the food chain.
