Everything is ready for what’s coming. Stand 9C23 at Fruit Attraction will be the stage where BASF | Nunhems presents its new range of solutions for the fruit and vegetable chain. Proposals full of innovation and flavor, where versatility and performance take center stage to win the trust of all links in the chain.

Tomato: reinforcements to win the ‘battle’

In a year where tomato is the star of the fair, BASF | Nunhems brings its extensive range to tackle the rugose virus (ToBRFV). “We continue to make strong investments. We are positioning ourselves in all relevant segments and continuing research to provide our customers with improved resistances to cope with increasing virus pressure and co-infections in the field,” explains Ester Serrano, Crop Lead South Europe Tomato Fresh.

Visitors will be able to see fruits from different typologies. In vine, alongside Cabosur* and Caboluna, they have introduced Beires*, with high productivity and excellent quality, suitable for early transplants and organic production.Variedad Daivion BASF Nunhems

In round cherry, Daivion* continues its growing success in Spain and Italy thanks to its productivity, short internode and excellent appearance. Several very interesting new developments will be added next year.

Azovian remains the star product in the pear segment, and following its path they will launch more varieties to cover new needs in Murcia.

In the Intense® segment, they are focusing on NUN 09399 TOF (export) and NUN 06226* TOF (processing) for Spain and Morocco.

As for loose tomato, where they are “pioneers” in introducing resistant varieties, Palmeo* already has strong client recommendations. It is noted for its high productivity, utilization of all fruits, excellent size and long shelf life.

In cherry plum, the big bet is Siurion*, with great flavor for the premium segment, along with two new introductions especially relevant for Morocco, Spain and Italy.

Purion* is more focused on medium- and high-tech greenhouses with high productivity, good fruit quality, long shelf life and excellent appearance. Amalion* is highly generative, with excellent uniformity and long shelf life.

Completing the portfolio are the rootstocks Dreampower and Maaspower*, as well as new varieties to help farmers stay protected against adverse conditions.

Here comes ‘The Melonution’

Following in the footsteps of ‘What’s Next’ at the Melon & Watermelon Business Event For Experts, comes a new umbrella concept in melon and watermelon: ‘The Melonution’.

This new strategic movement focuses on growth alongside the industry through a “share growth” philosophy based on four pillars, explains Diego Maestre, Global Crop Manager for Melon and Watermelon. “We want to achieve excellence,” he says. To that end, they will work on:

Production + quality: including projects on piel de sapo melon with superior plant vigor and quality, as well as cantaloupe and charentais with longer shelf life and improved harvest window, built on genetics focused on both biotic and abiotic stress with flavor excellence at its core.
Versatility: their Dual Purpose concept improves firmness in varieties adapted for fresh consumption (favoring clean cuts without dragging seeds) and for fresh cut, with exceptional quality.
Innovation: includes varieties such as Mayan 510* (Dino type) and personal watermelons that support convenience, such as Takemi*.
Trust: partnerships with producer clubs and the establishment of protocols as a win-win. Examples include groups and projects like Galkia®, Fashion® and Premium Universe.

All this and more will be shared in Madrid. Don’t miss visiting them!
