This year, the company from Galicia will extend its installations to improve and increase the production and distribution of its produce
This project, which has economic funding from the Consellería de Medio Rural of the Xunta de Galicia, confirms Kiwi Atlántico as the largest marketer of kiwis in Spain and one of the most important ones in Europe.
The company is extending its installations with the construction of a new covered area that will be made up of a 985 m² building for new cold storage, the enlargement of the packaging area by 734 m² and the creation of a new ripening room measuring 53 m² for 40,000 kilos of fruit per day. Additionally, it will improve the air conditioning in the chilled areas with another two cold rooms (for another 1,500 tonnes of storage) and it will have more packaging machinery.
These investments are budgeted at just over 3.1 million euros and they are planned to be finished in under two years.
The decision to enlarge the installations was made, taking advantage of the fact that the “Fábrica 4.0” project and the installation of the machinery for the non-destructive selection of the fruit had been finished. One of the goals of this innovation project is to homogenize the kiwis in batches due to their characteristics of Brix, hardness and dry material. In addition, it will make the fruit reach consumers in a uniform way, meaning that when they are taken home they can be eaten whenever wanted, without having to check which fruits are ripe and which are not.
Kiwi Atlántico, once again will be present with its own stand (Hall 6 – stand 6B04A) at Fruit Attraction, within the grouped space of the “5 a day” association. Executives from the company will attend anyone from the sector who visits the stand. There will also be a kiwi tasting and visitors will be offered an original kiwi ice cream.
Furthermore, at the fair visitors may discover the new image associated with the new campaign, designed by the well-known graphic artist, Luis Davila, the highly acclaimed Galician illustrator. With the claim “You deserve the most natural one”, Kiwi Atlántico’s new promotional image manages to transmit naturalness, freshness and proximity to end consumers.
