The company, which is celebrating its 35th anniversary, has added 1.7 ha of land to its 100% bio installations in Puntalón
At Semillero Saliplant they are celebrating. 2021 has marked the 35th anniversary of the company working alongside farmers, offering the best quality to ensure its clients’ success. Coinciding with this important milestone, they have opened an extension of its 100% ecological crop installations in Puntalón (Motril). They have added 1.7 ha of state-of-the-art greenhouses, where they will continue to back the growing demand for plants that are 100% ecological and residue-free, which now reach 3 ha exclusively designed for ecological plant crops.
Additionally, they recently received their PDO certificate, which is added to the Global Gap ecological certification and the ISO 14001:2015, making it into the ecological seed company with the greatest certified control. To reach these very high quality standards, they have created some cutting-edge installations, making important efforts in air tightness and efficient temperature regulation, without allowing the possibility of pests being able to enter. “We have managed this with a heating system using forced air convection, flap valve ventilation with latest generation netting and shade netting, as well as smart irrigation trolleys. We also have a highly qualified, widely experienced human team that knows about, and works hard to obtain top-quality plants for all our clients,” sources from the company explain.
These installations house the same offer of plant species as in the other seed nurseries, true to their commitment of offering clients the best option for their crops with the highest quality. The ecological seed nursery is controlled by an agricultural engineer, specialising in ecological crops, exclusively dedicated to the over 60,000 trays that can be housed in the 3 ha of facilities.
The installations are also designed to have as little impact as possible on the environment, taking full advantage of the climate for an efficient, responsible temperature regulation, optimising the irrigation with a smart system that makes a responsible use of the water. “Commitment to our planet is one of the essential elements that shape our company and these new installations are the best proof of this.”
