Championed by the French firm Agro Sélections Fruits, the European REGAL’IN™ White Flat Nectarine Association has been created, covering a new range of flat fruit
The company from Elne has selected a new generation of flat nectarines with a significant taste potential and an attractive presentation that will allow it to offer a complete, innovative range in this category.
Over three decades of research in all the stone fruit categories guarantee the company’s know-how which upholds, like no other, an identifiable distinction for the end consumer: the REGAL’IN™ concept.
REGAL’IN™, an unshakeable reference for especially tasty fruit, offers consumers a satisfactory and healthy purchase, as well as different lines in different species. It also guarantees farmers a good profitability and it meets the supermarkets’ requirements in terms of flavour and shelf life.
The new White Flat Nectarine Association will coordinate the production of all the plantations which, at present, have started up in France and that intend to reach 300 hectares in 5 years.
There are six French companies involved: SARL Clairettes et Coquillon, SCA Le Conquet, SA IlleRoussilllon, MetralFruits, EarlRacamier and SARL SynergieFruits.
The company’s executive, Laurence Maillard, qualifies that “the group is not closed and we would like to incorporate new partners from outside France, whenever the production can adapt to the market’s requirements.”
Future companies must share the group’s philosophy, based on the valuation of the entire chain, from production to the end consumer, giving priority to great quality and flavour.
“The current consumer trends that are looking for tasty products that are easy to eat (its flat shape is a bonus) guarantee very good growth prospects and our commitment lies in presenting another red-fleshed flat range over the next few years,” Maillard explains.
The flavour of the new flat nectarines, red on the outside and with white flesh, is a perfect balance of sugars, acidity and aromas. They are available from June to September.
