Unitec presents an innovative viewing system for blueberries that is revolutionising the market.
Fruit Today contacted its technical department to find out the advantages of this technology.
Could you explain briefly the operation of the UNICSL_222 Berry?
Unical_222 Berry, thanks to the innovative viewing system Blueberry Vision Unitec Technology, manages to detect everything that to date meant very serious problems, in other words, that the fruit is soft, too ripe and runs the risk of wasting away.
Up to now the selection systems concentrated on the analysis of the consistency of the fruit, but only at one point and not all over the surface. The new technology has been designed with the aim of also eliminating the fruit damaged at a single point, since it can view 100% of the surface. Additionally, it also selects the external defects, perceived by the human eye, such as lack of skin, withering, the presence of stems and dehydration. And obviously, selection and classification according to calibre and colour.
What is your working capacity per hour?
The installations developed by Unitec have been made-to-measure and are designed to provide specific results for each specific requirement at each centre. Therefore, Blueberry Vision Unitec Technology can work with different potentialities and Unical_222 Berry, the line that uses this viewing system has been designed in a modular manner for small, medium and large productions, moving from processing a very few tonnes per hour to a very high number of tonnes per hour.
