The new commercial season for Jingold, the global kiwifruit specialist, has started under the best conditions. With 2,500 hectares under cultivation —2,000 in Italy— and a network of 850 growers across both hemispheres, the company continues its growth path, reinforcing its presence in European and international markets through a production model based on innovation, premium quality, and sustainability.
“The 2025–2026 season opens with positive prospects across all our varieties. The expansion of northern hemisphere acreage and new orchards coming into production allow us to extend the marketing window and respond more precisely to growing global demand,” said Alessandro Fornari, Jingold’s general manager.
Yellow kiwi: the core business and growth driver
Yellow kiwifruit remains at the heart of Jingold’s operations. With its exclusive Jintao and Jinyan varieties, the company expects to market 25,000 tonnes this season — a 15% increase year-on-year.
The red kiwi, marketed as Oriental Red (Exotic Red), also continues to grow strongly, with projected volumes exceeding 2,000 tonnes, representing more than 50% of Italy’s national production.

“Each year we expand our red kiwi acreage, a distinctive fruit that is increasingly appreciated both in Italy and abroad,” Fornari noted.
Global balance and sector resilience
Global kiwifruit production —excluding China— is expected to reach 1.6 million tonnes, up 10% from 2024/25, driven mainly by New Zealand and supported by steady growth in other producing countries. Italy remains the leading yellow kiwi producer in the Northern Hemisphere, with about 100,000 tonnes.
