On the 1st of October, the L’Alcudia “4th Kaki Persimon® Half Marathon” took place, organised by the cooperative Canso and the town’s Caixa Rural.
The event started from the Avenida de la Cooperativa and 850 runners took part, many of them belonging to different clubs in the region.
The event, which is becoming more popular every year, included international level runners such as Marta Fernández de Castro, the first woman to reach the finish line, with a time of 1:26. In the men’s category, the winner was Andrés Mico, from the Club Albacete Diputación, who finished the race in 1:12.
All the participants enjoyed a batch of persimmons. And likewise, for each participant registered for the race the cooperative donated a kilo of food to the charity Cáritas and to the town’s Food Bank. Amongst the race’s sponsors, within their Corporate Social Responsibility area, the work carried out by Tecnidex and Roda Ibérica stood out.
