In March of this year, the 19th General Assembly of Members of the 5 a Day Association took place. There, in addition to presenting last year’s accounts to the members, the activities carried out and the work performed by the Scientific Committee and its international development, they presented the plan of action for 2017. The actions carried out with La Frutoteca were also explained. Once the Assembly had finished, the 10th Edition of the “5 a day” Prizes took place, where the following organisations were awarded prizes: In the Children’s Category, MERCAMADRID S.A for its initiative “Learn to eat healthily”; in the Society Category, SPAR GRAN CANARIA, for its work to spread the healthy message. And in the Dissemination Category, the chef Rodrigo de la Calle, who is known as the “green cook” or the “vegetable king”.
On the following day, the 9th Professional “5 a day” Seminar was held, in which distribution companies, wholesalers and producers all met, along with others from the fruit and vegetable growing industry.
