Envy™ is reaffirming itself in its segment and progressively increasing its presence in Spanish points of sale, within an unusual context on the European market
With half of the marketing campaign now over, the exclusive producers of this Club apple – Nufri in Spain and the VOG and VI.P Consortiums in the Italian Alps– confirm their satisfaction with the season’s development along with the positive reaction of customers and, even more so, that of consumers.
Jacky Feniello, sales manager at Nufri, underscores that “Envy™ is grown in areas with special micro-climate conditions, such as our “La Rasa” plantation in Soria and the best selected areas in the Italian Alps, in Southern Tyrol. This allows us to guarantee a product with an extraordinary flavour, which consumers are learning to know and appreciate.”
Gerhard Dichgans, general manager of the VOG Consortium, adds that “the sale of Envy™ is showing great dynamism and continuity, which gives us great satisfaction. Spain today has become one of the most significant markets for this extraordinary apple, which has managed to find its own space on Italian supermarket shelves, although with a very important growth margin for the future.”
“What is happening with the commercial success of Envy™ brings great promise for the future”, concludes Fabio Zanesco, sales manager for the VI.P Consortium. And on this aspect, he points out that “we must focus our variety development programmes on products where flavour is the main characteristic, aimed at giving consumers an excellent gastronomical experience.”
The production of the Envy™ apple will increase progressively over the next few years, thanks to a very exact plantations programme, adapted to each market, which the European producers have agreed upon with T&G Global, the company from New Zealand that owns the variety’s licence.
