Grape Attraction: an overall analysis

Joaquín Gómez - Apoexpa (3)

The grape industry has become one of the most important segments in the agricultural sector. It has had a fast evolution and today it is presenting a new paradigm.

Seedless grapes have won over virtually the entire market and the varieties that offer new flavours are the latest market trend. In order to understand what is happening in this sector better, Apoexpa has organised the 5th International Seedless Grape Congress, Grape Attraction, within the framework of Fruit Attraction. The event will take place next Wednesday, the 24th of October at the Fruit Forum Show (Hall 10) in Ifema, from 9.30 am to 2.30 pm.

The developers of the most important varieties worldwide, IFG, SUNWORLD, ITUM and SNFL will show their view of how we have reached this situation and where we are headed.

Following this, experts from the distribution and production sectors will summarise their experience in two conferences given by Óscar Salgado from Sanlucar, and Gohl and James Lonsdale from the Spar Group.

To conclude, several Spanish, Italian and Portuguese experts will debate the grape industry’s growth potential and the challenges it is facing in a Debate entitled “World Production and Growth Potential”. The talk will be moderated by Rupert Maude, from the company El Ciruelo, and the following people will take part in it: Josefina Meca, from Moycagrapes; Diego Silvestre from Vale da Rosa (Portugal), Carlo Berardi from Agrimessina (Italy); Luigi Peviani from Peviani (Italy); Alfredo Miralles from Uvasdoce; Filippo Valenzano from Guiliano (Italy); Andrew Pandol from Pandol (USA); Alwyn Dippenaar from SA and Jesús Gómez from Frutas Esther.
