Keops Agro is marketing a line of 100% natural produce to obtain maximum efficiency in bio crops
The company from Almeria, Keops Agro started its journey in the ecological sector 17 years ago, producing fruit and vegetables, and at the same time it started working in epigenetics “almost without realising it”, while it was looking for bionutritional and pest control solutions. Over the past two years it has developed the concept further through the Epigen Technology line, based on the activation of certain genes for the growth and the correct evolution of the plant, and it currently has produce developed by the company itself that it uses in its crops and markets to third parties nationally through Viagro. “All of them are closely linked to our 360º eco philosophy; in fact, they are an essential tool because they are natural solutions that keep the plant’s microbiology alive, along with beneficial fauna, allowing its correct nutrition and growth,” explains the manager, Francisco Javier del Águila. In this way, they manage to strengthen the crops and improve aspects such as vegetable health, yield, quality and, thus, pest control.
A team made up of two chemists, two technicians and other two support personnel for the trials are in charge of the R&D in Epigenetics, and they also have a consortium with an American company to carry out other types of tests and specific analyses. An example of this technology is Leva (a stimulator of the natural defence mechanisms based on fructose). Del Águila also emphasises one of the latest members of the range, Fertinatura. “It is very effective for nutrition, both for eco and for conventional crops, particularly on farms with salinity problems and it has become very popular.” Just another resource of the many that they use to obtain 100% ecological fruit and vegetables with the highest quality standards.
