The leading certification organisation in Europe has been authorised by the United Kingdom Government through its Department of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), to ensure that the products certified as ecological or organic by CAAE in countries outside the European Union can enter the British market in accordance with the country’s regulations. To do this, these producers will have to apply for the certification that must accompany the exports to the United Kingdom.
Juan Manuel Sánchez, Managing Director of CAAE, considers that this authorisation “means a new boost to the work that we at CAAE have been carrying out for many years in Spain and in other countries such as Peru, Mexico or Morocco, particularly for productions such as berries and other fruit and vegetables, which are highly appreciated on the British market. This authorisation will mean an important step forward for many of our producers, as it will give them the chance to access one of the main markets for organic products.”
