La Rasa is maintaining its production

La Rasa is maintaining its production at around 18 million kilos, in spite of the general drop experienced throughout Europe.

The farm in Soria belonging to the Nufri Group has managed to equal last year’s volumes thanks to the growth of its youngest plantations that make up for the losses caused by the bad weather conditions.

During this winter the last 60 hectares will be planted, reaching 800 hectares, which make it into one of the most extensive plantations in Europe. In this way, its final production forecasts will range from 40 to 45 million kilos per year. Likewise, an enlargement of the cold storage available is taken into account, which will go from 22 to 30 million kilos, an essential storage volume for the next production increases.

Between its farms in Lerida and Soria, the Nufri Group continues to grow and this year it will produce around 70-75 million kilos of apples.

Whilst exports make up 20% of its marketing, the Spanish market absorbs the famous apples under the brand name Livinda, in clear commitment to present the best quality.

Ignasi Argilés, the group’s marketing and production manager is showing his satisfaction for the quality of these high mountain Sorian apples. “Their flavour is indisputable and we also have a complete apple in all aspects.”

During the sessions at Fruit Attraction, the company will make public the results of the first year of its campaign supporting women’s sport under the slogan of “They are from Here.”

According to the Catalan executive, “our apples are from here and we cannot be indifferent to the aspirations of sportswomen from here.” Livinda will earmark up to 20,000 euros for funding the initiatives chosen by the advisory board, from amongst all the nominations presented.
