Sakata Seed Ibérica presented PerseusF1, the latest incorporation to its early cycle broccoli family. It is a very popular variety with farmers due to its significant advantages. It has been created for autumn harvesting, from the 15th of October to the 15th of December and it stands out for being able to adapt to regions with water shortages and saline soils, with an early growing cycle, which varies between 70 and 80 days. PerseusF1will help farmers to maintain a more stable production all year round, as it is designed to dovetail the summer and the winter productions together.
Thanks to its high yield, PerseusF1 is a variety that can be used both for the fresh market and for industry. “Farmers are very surprised by Perseus’F1 incredibly short cycle and the size and robustness of the pieces after a growing period of just 70-72 days,” stated Antonio Ibarra, Manager for Brassicas at the company.
