At Macfrut 2026, The Healthy Food Area is expanding significantly, tripling the number of participating operators to offer a comprehensive 360-degree journey through the healthy products sector. Marked by its distinctive green colour, the area will be located in Hall D3 and will focus on three main themes: “Healthy Food”, “Spices & Herbs” and “Organic Produce”.
The “Healthy Food” section will feature the exhibition and tasting of healthy and minimally processed products, ranging from fresh produce to fourth and fifth range products, with a large space dedicated to processing technologies for the production of high-value, plant-based foods.
“Spices & Herbs” will focus on medicinal plants, their primary derivatives and processing technologies aimed at developing the international market for spices and finished herbal products.
Meanwhile, “Organic Produce” will spotlight organic fruit and vegetables, a sector capable of combining excellence, innovation and sustainability.
Healthy workshops
Three events dedicated to product innovation are scheduled on the central stage of the Healthy Food Area, all with simultaneous English translation.
On Tuesday, 21 April, the workshop “From Field to Table: Organic Supply Chains and Agroecological Innovation” will provide an opportunity for dialogue among organic companies, research bodies and industry experts. The event will include thematic presentations followed by a roundtable discussion.
On Wednesday, 22 April, “Essence of Process and Innovation: The Journey of Spices and Medicinal Herbs into the Future” will focus on value-generating processing methods in the aromatic and medicinal plant sectors for food use.

The series concludes on Thursday, 23 April, with a roundtable titled “Fourth Range 4.0: Innovation, Quality and Sustainability in Ready-to-Eat Fruit and Vegetable Products.” Companies, technical specialists and scientific experts will discuss the latest innovations in processes and products across the sector, with particular attention to preserving nutritional value and quality in ready-to-eat foods.
Tisana Day
Herbal infusions — the most representative product of the medicinal plant sector — will take centre stage during Tisana Day on Wednesday, 22 April. The programme will include the “Herbal Tea Contest”, a guided experience in creating an original infusion.
Following expert guidance, participants will experiment with different formulations using a selection of herbs. At the end of the session, they will present their own recipe, judged on aroma, flavour and fragrance, with the possibility of being recognised as the best herbal infusion of 2026.
International Conference on Herbs & Spices
On 21 and 22 April, building on the success of the International Symposium dedicated to Mediterranean medicinal plants, the Spices & Herbs Global Expo will host the International Conference on Herbs & Spices, organised by AMAPMED. The event will provide a platform for dialogue among international experts, academics and companies.
