The company has joined the B Corp movement, through which it validates its environmental, social and governance performance and reinforces its renewed purpose: “changing the future of fruit”.

It has also launched Natural Change, the strategic platform that brings together the initiatives developed by its Sustainability department and through which the company structures its sustainability and innovation strategy across three areas: environmental performance, relationships with employees and local communities, and the promotion of healthy lifestyles.

A social plan with a strong local dimension

Supporting the second and third of these pillars is the company’s Social Plan, which has evolved towards a model of social impact integrated into the business and activated through three levers: labour inclusion, employee wellbeing and development, and the promotion of healthy lifestyles.

“Changing the future of fruit. That is our renewed purpose and, to achieve it, we believe it is essential to turn our corporate growth into a tool for creating social value,” says Teresa García, ESG Director at Bollo Natural Fruit.

Three pillars for environmental sustainability

Its bio-inclusive agriculture model is a pioneering initiative aimed at achieving a balance between agricultural production and biodiversity on the farms where the company operates.

During the financial year, the company reached 2,074 hectares managed under this model. A further 714 hectares on company-owned farms and 565 hectares belonging to partner growers have been incorporated into the scheme.

Bollo Natural Fruit is also continuing to roll out a comprehensive decarbonisation plan and has achieved a 17% reduction in total greenhouse gas emissions, while reducing the carbon intensity of its operations by more than 30%.

Sustainable water management is another of the company’s key pillars, particularly given its presence in areas highly exposed to water stress. To address this, Bollo Natural Fruit has been implementing its Water Efficiency Plan since 2022.
