Recent rainfall makes it possible to anticipate an increase in volumes. This is accompanied by positive expectations for quality and, provided weather conditions remain favourable, for the development of a good asparagus crop.
To extend the Spanish season, the company, based in the Vega de Granada, is investing both in warmer, earlier production areas and in later-producing zones. In this way, it is strengthening its market presence with Spanish-grown produce.

The sector continues to be affected by rising overall costs. Energy, supplier materials and, especially, the shortage of labour in the fields remain among the main concerns surrounding green asparagus, which is grown primarily in Granada and neighbouring provinces. Green asparagus is highly labour-intensive: it requires 100% manual labour in the field and 80% in the packing facility.
