FARMS Digital connects production, fieldwork and field data

FARMS Digital will present the latest developments in its platform for the management and optimisation of banana and plantain plantations at Fruit Attraction 2026, with new modules designed to connect production, field operations, labour, crop health and field data within a single digital ecosystem. Following a year of international expansion, the company is moving towards an increasingly modular platform that allows growers either to address specific operational needs or progressively digitalise their entire operation.

FARMS Digital was created from the direct experience of a banana grower and has been operating since 2017. It is currently available in four languages and is positioned as a production control tower, capable of capturing, geolocating, storing and consolidating field information and turning it into indicators, alerts and decision-support tools.

Five modules connected through a single database

At the heart of the ecosystem remains FARMS, the module that monitors production from flowering through to palletisation.

The solution integrates information on plots, traceability, harvest forecasting, weighing, grades, rejects, agronomic performance, population management and plot-level diagnosis.

This is complemented by FARMS Fieldwork, a tool designed to plan and monitor field operations. It will make it possible to map work areas, assign teams, track progress in real time and analyse completed activities. Its launch is scheduled for 2027.

The aim is to target interventions more effectively, reduce unnecessary movement and focus resources on the areas where they are really needed.

Labour and costs under the same management system

Another key element of the platform is labour and payroll management, particularly relevant in a crop where labour represents one of the main production costs.

The tool allows companies to record staff, teams, zones, working hours, completed tasks, individual and collective performance and incentives, providing a more structured view of activity and more reliable information for payroll processes.

The company is therefore seeking to connect work, operations, costs and production results more accurately.

Digital forms without programming

FARMS Digital is also introducing a no-code, geolocated and customisable forms engine, designed to allow companies to digitalise their own processes without the need for specific software development.

Potential uses include quality control, safety, agronomic observations, audits and process monitoring.

Data are recorded with timestamps and traceability, allowing companies to maintain a reliable historical record of field operations.

This module also opens up the possibility of using FARMS Digital beyond bananas and, potentially, beyond agriculture itself.

From disease monitoring to prediction

Crop health is another major area of development for FARMS Digital.

Its disease module currently supports monitoring of black sigatoka, weevils and nematodes, as well as the collection of geolocated information related to TR4, Fusarium, thrips and Moko.

The company is working with CIRAD to move from the simple digitalisation of field observations towards stronger prediction and recommendation capabilities.

The objective is to help growers anticipate where and when to intervene, rather than simply recording the presence or pressure of a disease.

One cycle: labour, fieldwork, production and data

One of the main goals of the ecosystem is to ensure that its different modules work together.

The logic follows a sequence of labour → fieldwork → production → data, making it possible to identify who is carrying out a task, what is being done, where and when it takes place, what result it produces and what additional information is generated during the process.

This integration is designed to enable a more precise analysis of the relationship between resources used, costs, operations carried out and yield per plot.

Artificial intelligence as the next step

Artificial intelligence is part of FARMS Digital’s development roadmap.

The accumulation of historical and operational data will allow the platform to move towards more advanced forecasting, detection, recommendation and decision-support capabilities, with the aim of helping production managers better anticipate crop development and decide which actions to take.

Upcoming developments include stronger predictive capabilities for disease management, further development of task monitoring and the arrival in 2027 of the ITK technical itinerary, with a particular focus on fertilisation.

Pilot projects to support adoption

The company is also introducing progressive implementation models to make technology adoption easier.

The process includes an initial audit, configuration, on-site training and close support during the first months of use. Companies can also begin with a pilot project with no commitment, assess the value of the solution under real conditions and then decide whether to expand implementation.

In Latin America and Brazil, FARMS Digital has also introduced monthly service models to facilitate access to the required terminals and reduce the initial investment in equipment.

Fruit Attraction 2026 will therefore serve as a showcase for an ecosystem that aims to move from basic digitalisation towards increasingly integrated, traceable and predictive agriculture.
