Organised by IFEMA MADRID and FEPEX, the trade fair brings together 2,500 exhibiting companies from 78 countries from October 6 to 8, covering 162,000 square metres and expecting 121,000 professionals from more than 150 countries.
The official opening is led by Luis Planas, Spain’s Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, accompanied by a broad institutional representation from Spain’s autonomous regions and participating countries.
Among the regional representatives attending are Ramón Fernández-Pacheco Monterreal, Regional Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development of the Andalusian Government; Joaquín Buendía Gómez, Regional Minister for Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Region of Murcia; Miguel Barrachina, Regional Minister for Agriculture, Water, Livestock and Fisheries of the Valencian Government; Narvay Quintero, Regional Minister for Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food Sovereignty of the Canary Islands Government; Aránzazu Simón Pérez, Regional Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Food of the Government of Aragón; and Jose Mari Aierdi, Regional Minister for Rural Development and Environment of the Government of Navarra.
The institutional representation is completed by ambassadors from several exhibiting countries, reinforcing the international dimension of a trade fair that has established itself as one of the world’s leading meeting points for the fruit and vegetable industry.
Innovation and knowledge take centre stage
Alongside its extensive exhibition offering, Fruit Attraction once again places innovation and knowledge among the main pillars of its programme.
In this context, The Innovation Hub brings together 45 products and business innovations from the sector. The area also hosts the Innovation Hub Awards, which recognise outstanding initiatives in the categories Fresh Produce, F&V Industry, and Sustainability and Commitment Initiatives.
The professional programme is completed by a wide range of congresses, presentations and talks. Highlights include Biotech Attraction, held within the Fruit Forum by Timac Agro, as well as the Biofruit Congress and the different activities organised by exhibitors in the Fruit Next areas.
Gastronomy also takes centre stage
The gastronomic programme returns with Factoría Chef, showcasing the culinary potential of fruit and vegetables through a series of live showcookings.
This year also sees the introduction of El Reto MasterChef, with a special programme on October 7 and 8 combining gastronomy, competition and content creation at the heart of the trade fair.
Best Stand Awards
Fruit Attraction also recognises the work of exhibiting companies through the Best Stand Awards, sponsored by WAH.
The awards recognise exhibition spaces that stand out for their creativity, design and commitment to sustainability across four categories: Most Original, Best Design, Most Sustainable and Public Favourite.
Ten exhibition halls at IFEMA MADRID
The 18th edition of Fruit Attraction takes place across Halls 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12 and 14 at IFEMA MADRID, with opening hours from 9:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and until 4:00 p.m. on the final day.
