Fruit Attraction 2026 has already exceeded the total exhibition area occupied in its previous edition and has added more than 2,000 additional square metres, as highlighted during the meeting of its Organising Committee.
The next edition, organised by IFEMA MADRID and FEPEX, will take place from 6 to 8 October and is expected to bring together more than 2,500 companies, occupy 162,000 square metres and welcome over 121,000 professionals from 150 countries.
These forecasts reinforce the event’s position as one of the leading international meeting points for the fruit and vegetable sector.
Stronger international presence
The trade fair will once again feature the participation of all Spain’s fruit and vegetable-producing autonomous communities, together with an increasingly broad international representation.
New participating countries include Armenia, Australia, Guatemala, Indonesia, Ireland, the British Virgin Islands, Japan, Malaysia, the Czech Republic, Sweden and Tunisia.
The addition of these markets will expand the diversity of the offer present at the fair and strengthen its business and commercial expansion opportunities.
Innovation takes centre stage once again
Fruit Attraction will continue to place innovation and knowledge at the heart of its programme.
The call for entries for the Innovation Hub Awards is now open, aimed at recognising the most innovative and sustainable projects, products and services in the sector. Exhibiting and co-exhibiting companies may submit their entries until 2 September.
The registration period for the Best Stand Awards, sponsored by WAH, will also remain open until that date. These awards are aimed at companies participating with custom-designed stands and will assess creativity, innovation and commitment to sustainability.
Meanwhile, Factoría Chef will once again serve as a gastronomic showcase for companies in the Fresh Produce area, allowing them to highlight the culinary qualities of their products through showcookings. The registration deadline will be 27 September.
Potato, the star product of the edition
The potato will be the star product of Fruit Attraction 2026, due to its importance for food security and its role within a healthy diet.
On 5 October, the day before the fair opens, the 1st International Potato Symposium, organised by FEPEX, will take place.

The event will analyse the situation of a sector marked by a reduction in both area and production in the European Union. It will also seek to drive its revitalisation, reinforce its strategic role and encourage the exchange of knowledge among the different operators in the chain.
The fair will also promote Organic Tour, a signposted route designed to increase the visibility of exhibiting companies with certified organic products.
China and the United Arab Emirates, guest markets
Fruit Attraction will strengthen its commercial dimension through the International Buyers Programme, developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, ICEX and FEPEX.
The initiative will invite 700 major buyers, retail purchasing managers, importers and wholesalers from more than 50 countries.
Within the Guest Importing Countries Programme, China and the United Arab Emirates will be the featured markets for this edition.
A broad knowledge programme
The fair will once again host different forums and technical sessions with specialised content and speakers from Spain and abroad.
Scheduled events include the Avocado Congress and the Biofruit Congress, along with other sessions focused on the main challenges and opportunities facing the fruit and vegetable sector.
Fruit Attraction 2026 will open its doors from Tuesday 6 October to Thursday 8 October, from 9:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., except on the final day, when the fair will close at 4:00 p.m.
