Global table grape exports exceed $10 billion in 2025

Worldwide table grape exports reached 5.11 million tonnes in 2025, generating a total value of $10.205 billion, according to the 2026 International Table Grape Market Yearbook published by iQonsulting

The new report, which is available free of charge, provides updated data on international shipments, market developments and prices. The publication is sponsored by Frutas de Chile and Informacción, with the support of a broad group of industry partners.

China consolidated its position as the world’s leading table grape exporter, shipping 857,000 tonnes and accounting for 17% of the global total. It was followed by Peru, with 695,000 tonnes and a 14% share, and Chile, with 560,000 tonnes and 11%.

China’s export growth has been supported by the sustained expansion of its domestic production. This increase in supply has also progressively reduced the country’s dependence on imported grapes to meet local demand during the counter-season.

United States remains the largest importer

The United States continued to lead global table grape imports, accounting for 17% of the total. Germany ranked second with a 7% share, followed by the Netherlands with 6% and the United Kingdom with 5%.

By contrast, the share held by China and Hong Kong declined from 12% in 2016 to just 4% in 2025, reflecting the increasing availability of locally grown fruit.

The 2025/26 US season was characterised by greater overlap between the main supplying countries. Earlier harvests in the United States and Mexico coincided with higher volumes from Peru, putting pressure on prices, particularly towards the end of the marketing season.

Peru increases white seedless shipments

In the white seedless grape segment, Peru increased its exports by 11% compared with the previous season. Its fruit continued to achieve attractive prices on the spot market, ranging from $3.10 to $4.90 per kilogram FOT.

Chile, meanwhile, reduced its shipments by 15%, although its prices remained above the previous season’s levels for much of the campaign. Mexican grapes recorded lower values, with minimum prices of around $2.50 per kilogram FOT.

Prices for Peruvian red seedless grapes were broadly in line with the previous season. However, strong early demand pushed prices above $4.00 per kilogram FOT at the beginning of the campaign.

Chile retained its leading position during the later marketing window. Prices for Chilean red seedless grapes remained above those of the previous season for most of the campaign, fluctuating between $2.50 and $3.50 per kilogram FOT.

Black seedless prices recover later in the season

Peruvian black seedless grapes traded below the average recorded during the 2024/25 campaign until week seven. Prices subsequently began to recover as the availability of Peruvian fruit declined and Chilean volumes increased their presence in the market.
