HM.Clause continues to expand its range of tomato varieties with resistance to Tomato Brown Rugose Fruit Virus (ToBRFV). The company has focused its R&D efforts on delivering solutions to this issue, while also addressing the different demands of the value chain, and now offers a broad portfolio across the main market segments.
Intuitivo F1 and Curioso F1, in cherry
HM.Clause introduced its first ToBRFV-resistant additions in 2023. Since then, Intuitivo F1 and Curioso F1 have established themselves as benchmarks in the cherry segment. Both produce intense red fruits with consistent sizing throughout the cycle, as well as excellent postharvest performance.
Intuitivo F1 stands out for its rusticity, ease of management, earliness and high yield, making it ideal for organic production. Curioso F1, on the other hand, is highly versatile and adapted to long cycles, producing clusters of very uniform red fruits.
Centinela, a domestic plum variety
Centinela (HMC 44617) falls within the plum tomato segment for the domestic market. Its resistance package is highly comprehensive: ToBRFV, TYLCV (Tomato Yellow Leaf Curl Virus), spotted, nematodes and Pseudomonas. The plant, with medium vigour and internodes, is well ventilated, requires minimal pruning and produces clusters of four to five large fruits.
It is suitable for short cycles in autumn, spring or summer, and growers who have seen it in the field highlight its uniformity in fruit, size and colour, making it a top-quality product for auction markets.
Freeman, long-distance export
Freeman is an export-oriented plum tomato, with medium-high vigour, a rustic plant and excellent fruit set throughout the cycle. It incorporates IR resistance to ToBRFV and TYLCV.

Its fruits are oval and uniform, with M–MM sizing, ideal for export packaging. Good firmness, intense red colour and excellent postharvest performance complete a varietal profile designed to reach distant markets in perfect condition.
HMC37961 F1, outstanding shelf life
Another standout variety is the beefsteak tomato HMC37961 F1. Its fruits are fleshy, with an intense red colour, multilocular structure and good flavour.
Despite being a specialty, it is highly productive and offers exceptional shelf life thanks to its high firmness and resistance to TYLCV, with outstanding postharvest performance that makes it ideal for long-distance export.
