HM.Clause expands its ION range with Sulis F1

The late-cycle variety combines high resistance to powdery mildew, open plant architecture and large-calibre fruits in a portfolio that also strengthens short and mid-cycle segments

HM.Clause introduces Sulis F1, its new addition to the late yellow California pepper segment. Designed for transplanting between 25 July and 10 August, the variety stands out for its high resistance to powdery mildew and its notably open plant architecture, which facilitates both crop management and plant protection treatments in a context marked by pressure from Thrips parvispinus.

As explained by David González, sales technician, the open and well-ventilated plant structure makes it more difficult for the pest to find shelter and establish itself. Growers who have already tested the variety particularly highlight its GG calibre, firmness and fruit consistency, along with good performance both on the plant and in post-harvest.

Kefrén F1 replaces Abraham

In the short-cycle segment, Kefrén F1 has been establishing itself over the past two campaigns in extra-early and early areas such as Dalías, Berja and Adra. This material replaces Abraham F1, surpassing it with resistance to powdery mildew and nematodes, as well as a higher calibre, with a predominance of GG fruits.

Its earliness is one of its most valued attributes: it enters production quickly, allowing for the possibility of a second crop within the same campaign. González notes that “seed availability is high, and the variety is gaining strong traction” in the market.

Cesión and Nesmet for mid cycles

For mid-cycle production, Cesión F1 already has four seasons in the field and has gained prominence for the same reasons as Sulis F1: its very open and airy plant structure meets the needs of a sector actively tackling parvispinus with all available tools. Its consistent GG fruit calibre and resistance to powdery mildew and nematodes are its main strengths.

Meanwhile, Nesmet F1 operates in the same segment but offers a slightly higher proportion of GG calibres and even earlier entry into production.

Serket F1, also for mid cycles, is a large-calibre (GGG) variety aimed at auction market clients.

And Belenus F1, in its first commercial year, is attracting strong interest in the sector thanks to its productivity, good winter performance, G–GG calibre, fast entry into production and long cycle. According to González, “it has everything it needs to succeed”.
