Avocado exports are also expected to rise. Galil Export estimates overseas shipments could reach around 170,000 tonnes, up from approximately 150,000 tonnes in the 2025/26 campaign.
Domestic consumption also remains significant, with Israeli consumers eating an average of around 10 kilograms of avocados per person each year.
Plantings expand into new production areas
In Upper Galilee, avocado orchards currently cover around 12,000 dunams, equivalent to approximately 1,200 hectares.

The economic performance of the crop has encouraged growers to expand avocado production into areas previously considered less suitable because of the risk of frost and the difficulty of protecting trees from low temperatures.
This expansion includes the Hula Valley, reflecting growers’ interest in increasing planted area as the sector prepares for what could become Israel’s largest avocado harvest on record.
