AILIMPO’s lemon harvest estimate for the upcoming 2026/2027 season projects production in Spain of 1,214,600 metric tons, representing a 19% increase compared to the production figures for the 2025/2026 season (which closed with a final production of 1,021,000 metric tons)
By variety, although the total cultivation area has decreased slightly (currently 49,572 ha), the forecast shows a 17% increase for Fino and a 24% increase for Verna.
Weather conditions during the spring were optimal, allowing for adequate flowering and fruit set. Furthermore, despite the high temperatures in June, July, and August, growers had sufficient water resources to irrigate and meet the trees’ needs.

Furthermore, the efforts and hard work of the growers—supported by AILIMPO’s AGEFIS Project for phytosanitary monitoring—have enabled effective management of pests and diseases, leading to higher-quality fruit and greater commercial viability for the fresh market. The estimated crop will also allow to recover normal volumes for processing.
