The actions included on this plan do not only mean a gain in square metres, but also the fitting out of the successive extensions with new machinery aimed at increasing the quality and the presentations of the fruit, mainly by the installation of new calibrators and mesh-packaging machines.
The investment in the actions carried out last year reached around 600,000 euros; the budget for this year will be around 1.2 million euros, an amount that will be used to start up a new space for ripened produce, along with a new project with which the company wants to extend its offer of healthy products. Natural Tropic is opting for a new crop, pistachio nuts, which it will also market in retail through its sales network. To do this, it already has 100 ha of surface area, which will yield their first productions at the end of this year. The raw material will be processed in a 1,000 m² building located in the town of Baza (Granada). These installations will have drying and packaging machinery to start of the company’s journey in this new category.
