Rijk Zwaan is attending Fruit Attraction under the theme ‘Reimagining Solutions’, reflecting its approach to innovation. For Javier García Rigol, Client Manager Chain at Rijk Zwaan, innovation is not only about developing varieties, but also about connecting production and market challenges with consumer needs to create value throughout the entire chain.
Flavour and differentiation are key themes at the stand, with concepts such as Sweet Palermo®, Tatayoyo®, Crunshella® and Orange Sunglow. With Sweet Palermo, the company is also highlighting storage performance and shelf life.
New consumption occasions are showcased through Veggie Bites, with proposals designed to encourage the consumption of fruit and vegetables at different times of the day. MyCubies®, Tatayoyo, mini celery Cerly and cherry tomatoes are part of this snacking concept.
Convenience is another pillar of the proposition through Easy Prepare, a space designed to inspire practical kitchen solutions and demonstrate how fresh vegetables can meet the growing demand for quick and simple preparations. Sweet Palermo®, Greentense beans, cauliflower, courgette and leek feature in recipes for the microwave or air fryer, as well as smoothies and meal kits.
Rijk Zwaan is also focusing on Labour Smart™, with solutions aimed at reducing labour requirements, facilitating mechanisation and increasing efficiency. Examples include TeenLeaf©, Salanova® and midi-sized broccoli, alongside work on mechanised harvesting.

In melons and watermelons, the company offers different colours, sizes and flavours, including Orange Sunglow, the Tropical range, small formats such as Candy Ball and Galuna, its Galia melon offering with excellent shelf life and flavour, and a cutting indicator to determine the optimal harvesting time.
Nutrition completes the proposition through Veggies First. A nutritionist will explain the nutritional value of the products, while the company will seek to promote clearer communication of their benefits.
