Alltech® Crop Science launches PROCROP™ MITTEX

Procrop™ Mittex is an innovative biotechnological solution that strengthens crop physiology and activates the plant’s natural defence mechanisms from within
IMAGEN MITTEX

Procrop™ Mittex is a foliar biostimulant developed through solid-state precision fermentation (SSF) using Trichoderma spp.. It is classified as a non-microbial plant biostimulant (PFC 6) in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2019/1009.

This launch reinforces Alltech Crop Science’s positioning as a benchmark in the biostimulant sector, bringing to the market a tool backed by solid scientific evidence and proven field efficacy, resulting from more than three years of research and development.

Precision biotechnology

Procrop™ Mittex delivers a comprehensive strategy that strengthens plant metabolism, increases crop resilience and prepares plants to respond more efficiently under adverse conditions.

Its formulation is based on a fermentation extract rich in bioactive metabolites, obtained through SSF technology, enabling higher concentration, diversity and stability of functional compounds compared with conventional fermentation processes.

Unlike traditional solutions, Procrop™ Mittex does not depend on microbial colonisation. Its metabolites are rapidly recognised and absorbed by the plant following foliar application, triggering an early physiological response visible within the first 24 hours.

Mode of action

Procrop™ Mittex acts as a biostimulant by activating hormonal and defensive pathways that improve plant vigour and resilience. Its metabolites promote photosynthesis, hormonal balance and the expression of genes associated with induced systemic resistance mechanisms.

Its mode of action is based on two sequential and synergistic phases: basal biostimulation, which optimises crop metabolism and growth; and immune priming, which prepares the plant to respond more effectively to future stress episodes.

“With Procrop Mittex, we are taking another step towards more resilient, efficient and sustainable agriculture. This product reflects a new way of understanding plant biostimulation: it is not about applying an external solution, but about activating natural mechanisms that already exist within the plant,” says Agustín Murillo, General Manager of Alltech Crop Science Iberia.
