The participation of the National Association of Berry Exporters of Mexico (ANEBERRIES) at the IFPA Global Produce & Floral Show 2026, held from 16 to 18 October in Orlando, Florida, once again highlighted Mexico’s role in the international berry trade.
IFPA represents a strategic meeting point for a Mexican industry with a strong export focus and an offering that has increasingly been built around quality, food safety, innovation and supply capacity.
The United States, a strategic market
The United States is one of the main destinations for Mexican berries. Geographical proximity and the strong commercial integration between the two countries, together with growing demand for fruit associated with healthy eating, make the US market a priority for Mexican growers and exporters.
Against this backdrop, ANEBERRIES’ presence at IFPA 2026 provided an opportunity to strengthen contacts with importers, distributors, supermarket chains and other players across the fresh produce industry.

Mexico’s berry offering includes strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and blackberries, supported by an industry that has incorporated technology, innovation and greater professionalisation to meet the requirements of international markets.
However, the sector’s growth also brings challenges linked to production costs, labour availability, phytosanitary requirements and international competition. The ability to adapt will therefore be one of the key factors in maintaining the competitiveness of the Mexican berry industry.
ANEBERRIES as a driver of internationalisation
Beyond its presence at leading international trade shows, ANEBERRIES plays a role in representing and promoting Mexico’s berry industry, supporting initiatives aimed at strengthening competitiveness and improving the positioning of Mexican produce in destination markets.
In an increasingly demanding international environment, the association considers areas such as innovation, good practices, international promotion and cooperation among companies to be essential to the sector’s development.
Market diversification is also emerging as an important avenue for growth, together with the differentiation of Mexican berries through attributes such as quality, freshness and consumer trust.
An industry focused on international markets
ANEBERRIES’ presence in Orlando reflects the international dimension achieved by Mexico’s berry industry and its interest in continuing to consolidate commercial relationships in strategic markets.
The challenge for the coming years will not only be to increase production, but also to improve efficiency, generate value, strengthen commercial relationships and respond to changing consumer demands.
IFPA 2026 therefore provided a valuable platform for showcasing the evolution of an industry that has turned berry production into an important export-oriented activity and continues to seek new opportunities for growth in international markets.
